I have had JRA since I was 5. I am currently 18, and though most, if not all, of the struggles of JRA are not present and have not been for almost 12 years, I have had to battle chronic uveitis for 13 years and that has been a constant battle.

This will be my first of many walks for vision (i hope!). I have been fortunate enough to only have my struggle with uveitis affect my left eye. Luckily it never spread to the right, which is very common in cases like mine. I have had cataract and glaucoma caused by my uveitis. I have also had 3 surgeries on this eye. I hope someday to improve the world's knowledge on this illness, so other kids can be as fortunate as me to find the correct care to help save their vision.
