Breathe: It's the Law

The Asthmatic Schoolchildren's Treatment and Health Management Act--signed into law in 2004 thanks to a national cooperative effort led by AANMA--provided funding preferences to states that protect students' right to carry and self-administer asthma and anaphylaxis medications at school.

This photo was taken last May during Allergy & Asthma Network Mothers of Asthmatics' (AANMA's) first annual Advocacy Conference. One of the goals of the conference was to empower children (ages 10-16) with the skills and confidence to address legislators, school administrators and community leaders about carrying asthma and anaphylaxis medications to school.
