The DSAGR strives to improve the quality of life of individuals with Down syndrome and their families in the Greater Richmond area. We provide access to current and accurate information on Down syndrome by fostering programs that focus on education, community services, public awareness, medical issues, research, advocacy, legal issues, and parenting.
Our major programs include monthly meetings, First Call (new/expectant parents support), Hands Up! (playgroup), FunQuest (Teens/Young Adults) Group, Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome (DADS), Enrichment Scholarships, and a lending library. We offer a variety of exciting events throughout the year including our Annual Step UP for Down Syndrome 5K & Family Festival, Step Up for Down Syndrome Night (Auction/Gala), Annual Softball Tournament, Annual Cut A Thon, and Annual Holiday Party.
Our monthly meetings are open to the public and usually on the 3rd Friday at 6:15pm at All Saints Episcopal Church, 8787 River Rd., Richmond, VA. We typically offer dinner followed by a program for adults and/or children. Childcare and children's activities usually provided. Donations accepted to offset childcare and dinner expenses. See www.dsagr.com or click on the Monthly Meetings tab for the latest meeting details!
The DSAGR is a 501(c)3 (nonprofit) organization.
