At the beginning of this year I ran the P.F. Chang's 1/2 Marathon here in Phoenix and it was such a thrill and a great accomplishment for me.
I will do it again on January 18, 2009, but this time I have decided to do it for a good cause. Through Miracles in Motion I will be paired with a former or current Phoenix Children's patient, building a special bond that will last forever.
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet Abby. She is my honor patient. I also met her parents, Melissa and Bruce and her sister Megan. I also had the opportunity to bring my nephew Alex with me. It was a very nice experience for both of us.
I am happy to say that Abby is in remission and she is doing very well.

Abby’s Story: Much of 2007 and 2008 were spent battling cancer. There were many hospital stays and long days in the clinic. While I was there, it wasn’t so bad….everyone is nice, the playroom is great and sometimes people would come to say hi. I am so thankful that my cancer is in remission right now and I know there are still many kids at the hospital- it is great for them to have some fun things too.

A principios de este anio, corri el medio maraton aqui en Phoenix, lo cual fue una gran satisfaccion y un gran logro.
Ahora he decidio volverlo a correr pero esta vez sera por una buena causa. A traves del programa de Miracles in Motion del Hospital para Ninos de Phoenix, podre contribuir en el tratamiento para un nino con el cual el Hospital me pondra en contacto y asi formar un lazo muy especial que sera de por vida. Con su apoyo moral y economico podre lograrlo.
La carrera se llevara a cabo el 18 de Enero de 2009, a las 8 a.m. en Phoenix, Arizona. Y la fecha limite para mi donacion es el 30 de Noviembre de 2008.
Hace unos dias porfín tuve el gusto de conocer a Abby, la niña a la cual esta donación está dirigida. También conocí a su papás, Melissa y Bruce, así como a su hermana Megan. Para esta reunión tuve la oportunidad de que me acompañara mi sobrino Alex, fue una experiencia inolvidable para los dos. Y con gusto les informo que el cáncer de Abby se ha remitido y ella se encuentra en muy buen estado y con muy buenos ánimos.

La Historia de la batalla de Abby:
Gran parte del 2007 y 2008 estuvieron enfocados en la batalla contra el cáncer. Fueron varias extensas estadías en el hospital y largos días en la clínica, durante los cuales no todo era malo, todos eran muy amables y hay un gran cuarto de juegos y en ocasiones recibia visitas. Estoy muy agradecida de que mi cáncer ha remitido por lo pronto, pero se que aun hay muchos otros niños que siguen en el hospital, es bueno que ellos tengan cosas divertidas que hacer también.
