Boston Area Rape Crisis Center

4th Annual Walk for Change Cambridge,  Massachusetts

Alyssa Sciuto's Fundraising Page

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. Sexual assault is a vastly over looked crime. It is a crime that people refuse to talk about. It is a crime that forces victims to remain silent. It is a crime that destroys families. It is a crime that plagues communities. It is a crime that is dangerously under reported. It is a crime that blames the victim.  It is a crime that happens behind closed doors. It is a crime perpatrated often by those closest to us. It is a crime that we as a society cannot tolerate any longer. It is a crime that needs to be stopped.

It is time to end sexual assault. It is time to give victims their voices back. It is time to give families the chance to rebuild. It is time to provide communities with the education and  resources they need.

Sexual assault is not a problem that can be fixed in one day, but each step taken on April 5, 2009 is one step closer to ending sexual assault.  Every day sexual assault silently takes place.  Let's break the silence starting April 5, 2009! This walk is critical not only to breaking the silence, but also to creating awareness and ensuring that surviors, their friends, and families continue to recieve the support and resources they need. Now more than ever, each and every donation is needed, no matter how small.

Times are tough all over. It is in times like these  we realize that real support and true strength comes not from one person or source, but instead from the collective effort of members of the community. Whether by donating or joining the walk, please become part of the collective effort to support those who need it the most.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
