As many of you know I am actively involved in the Sibling Connections organization (a.k.a. Camp-To-Belong – MA).  The organization’s mission is to re-unite and help build healthy relationships for siblings who have been separated while in foster/adoptive care.  The benefit the children and our society reap from them staying in-touch is tremendous.  The organization sponsors a week-long program at a camp in the Berkshires as well as monthly programs held throughout the State.  Historically, funding has typically come from the State (about 1/3) and private donations from people like you (about 2/3).  The current economic climate has presented financial challenges to many organizations including Sibling Connections, which has experienced a reduction in private donations and lost the majority of their state funding. 

 

The organization’s volunteers are trying everything possible to avoid cutting the valuable programs the organization offers to these kids and as a result we are ramping up our fundraising efforts with various events.   On June 7^th, we are having a walk-a-thon in Framingham in order to raise money and awareness.  Please sponsor me through the secure website below or if you prefer to donate by check you can make it payable to "Sibling Connections" and mail it to 156 School St., Watertown, MA 02472.
