FIFTH ANNUAL HIKE FOR HOSPICE
Early in the year of 2009, my brother, Kenny, was delivered the devestating news. Lung cancer. He was 39 years old with two teenage daughters. We were all scared of what the future held. His 14 month battle was so hard on him. It was so hard on all of us.
Hospice was called in almost immediately.
Of course, at the time, we didn't know what that meant. For those of you that don't know what Hospice does...they provide medical, spiritual, and emotional help to someone who is dying...as well as their family members. They allow a person to go home and spend their remaining time at home with family instead of in a hospital. They do not charge for their service and the backbone of their organization is run by volunteers.
My brother passed away in one of their facilities in Sun City. It was a beautiful place and it was so warm and welcoming to the family.
One day, you, or one of your family members may rely on Hospice and you'll understand why I want to help raise money for their wonderful organization.
Me, my sister, our mom and dad, and our two nieces will be walking November 12th to help raise money. Please join me in supporting Hospice.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
