Dear Basset Lovers,

My name is Leroy and my story is a sad one.  About a year ago, I found myself scared and alone at BARC until the kind folks at Basset Buddies Rescue of Texas pulled me and put me in a foster home.  Well eventually someone applied to adopt me and after a thorough adoption screening I was off to my "furever" home...or so I thought.

I don't know why they adopted me because in the short year I was with them, I became heartworm positive, developed a bad case of cherry eye, became extremely skinny and terrified of people.  I must have a guardian angel because by chance, a Basset Buddies volunteer was poking around on Craigslist when they spotted my picture and a price tag of $225 (about what is had cost them to adopt me)!  I was pulled from that awful place immediatley and put into another loving foster home.

Well after my vet visit, my total treatment plan came to $1200 and I'm sure you will all agree that I am worth every penny.  I did nothing wrong to receive the short end of the stick so many times in life.  Help turn my luck around and contribute to my medical care.  The sooner the funds come in, the sooner I can be treated, and the sooner I can go to my true FOREVER home!
