I've decided to accomplish a life goal of mine this year and run my first (and probably only) marathon (thats 26.2 miles for those of you who don't run).  I started running about 2 years ago with a group of friends and at the time I could not even run one mile.  After running two half marathons I decided it was time to run the big one.  When I received information from World Vision about their Chicago Marathon team, it just seemed like the perfect time for me to accomplish my goal.  Luckily one of my best friends, Lesley, decided to do it with me so we've been meeting bright and early each week to train together. 

Kevin and I have supported a little girl in India named Alika through World Vision for about 10 years now.  For the amount we spend on just one meal out, we are able to provide her with tools for education, food, and health care.  Its such a small sacrifice for us and yet it can make a huge difference in the life of a child. 

World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like: clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.
