A quick update... Thanks to all of my incredible friends and family I have been able to change my goal from 250.00 to 500.00 to 700.00 and now to 1000.00 in just 5 short weeks!!  Those of you who have already donated thank you from the bottom of my heart! To those of you planning on making a donation time is running out!! I will be jumping on March 3rd 2012 :)

Hi everyone!  I wanted to do this to not only show my support to all the athletes participating this year but because my sister is a gold medalist!! Melanie, my younger sister, was diagnosed with Autism at age 3 and has been my inspiration since!  I hope you can help me so I can take the PLUNGE with a group of my coworkers!!

Thank you for visiting my Polar Plunge fundraising page. They say anyone with a little guts and a warm heart can take the Plunge and I am one of those folks. I’m collecting donations from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support the nearly 21,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than 6,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 of Special Olympics Illinois! Your donations will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition.

To reward your generosity, I’m going to join more than 5,700 people statewide who will voluntarily jump into freezing cold water in the middle of winter as we take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges for Special Olympics Illinois. I guess you could say that I’m “Freezin’ for a Reason”!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the LETR Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois.  (If you can afford it, please cover the fee for donation! I want all my funds to go to helping kids with disabilities feel successful!)

Many thanks for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
