Thank you for visiting Diane's "Plunge" fundraising page. They say anyone with a little guts and a warm heart can take the "Plunge" and Diane is one of those folks. As many of you know, Diane is a long-time supporter of Special Olympics. She has always put her heart and soul into her involvement with Special Olympics. Her husband, Greg, coaches and her son, Matthew, is an athlete, and this is just the tip of the iceberg of this family's involvement.
In the past, Diane has always managed to persuade someone to take the "Plunge" in the freezing cold water; however, Diane has never jumped in herself. Last year her great-niece, Sierra, plunged for the cause. After this experience the family decided it was Diane's turn to take the "Plunge"!!
At first Diane said "no way", but eventually she decided to make a deal. The deal is the family has to raise $1000 and she will "Plunge"!! So the Garland family is going to make it happen!! We ALL want to see Diane take the plunge in the freezing cold Mahomet Lake. And let's not forget that this is all for a great cause.
So we collecting pledges from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support Special Olympics Illinois athletes. Even though we will all get great pleasure from seeing Diane take the "Plunge", remember that your donations are important and will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in sports training and competition.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Let's get Diane in that water - it will be so worth the donation!!
Thank you, Amie Smith (Diane's niece)
