Amy Davidson's Boston Marathon Journey

Dear family and friends,

On April 19, 2010, I'll be having the experience of a lifetime.   I'm thrilled to be running in the Boston Marathon!  Well, there'll probably be some walking, water-guzzling, energy bar-chewing, sweating - maybe some crawling and shuffling just for a little variety.

Why am I running?  To raise money for a wonderful cause (see below), and to celebrate five breast cancer-free years of personal health and fitness.

Why Bay State Games?  Two words:  KIDS' FITNESS.   I participate in road races and triathlons that support charities whose missions are important to me.  Programs like this one that promote healthy lifestyles and fitness for kids are at the top of my list.  Please read the description below, and definitely visit the website at www.baystategames.org.

I hope you will give as generously as you can; after all, when kids are healthier, we are ALL richer.  Any amount is appreciated, and it is all tax-deductible.

Can't decide on an amount?  Here are some really cool ideas:

$10.00 - number of miles in my first awesome long run with the BSG team;

$20.00 - my nieces' combined ages;

$26.20 - the number of marathon miles;

$42.20 - the number of kilometers;

$29.00 - my age at marathon time, for the 10th year (in my mind, anyway);

$98.90 - a variation of my very first race number;

$500.00 - the number of times I chant, as I make my way up Heartbreak Hill, "This is WAY too much fun!"

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.

For offline donations, make your check or money order out to "Bay State Games", put my name on the memo line, and send to:

Amy Davidson, P.O. Box 73, Pittsfield, NH 03263

Please be sure to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

Thank you so much for supporting this amazing cause and my journey to the Boston Marathon.

See you at the finish line!

Amy
