Amy Hilgers's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. My Dad was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease in 1985. He faught a long, hard battle and passed away in 2009 from the horrbile disease. I was diagnosed in Feb. of 2009 at the age of 47 and had to stop working as a physical therapist. I am in the early stages of the disease, which affects my balance, coordination and short term memory.
Currently there is no treatment and no cure for HD. So you can understand my determination to raise awareness and funds for research and care. I will be walking in Portland, OR Oct. 9th in the HSDA Team Hope Walk. Please join my team by walking and/or supporting my efforts. Any amount you give is helpful and tax deductible. You can donate now through this website which is simple, fast and totally secure. You can also donate with a personal check. Please make checks out to HDSA (Huntington's Disease Society of America) and mail it to 522 NW Harold St, Sublimity, OR, 97385. Many THANKS for your support !! I could not fight this battle without the amazing support of all of you!!! I am truly blessed by all of your support!
