Cal's Pals Purple Stride Walk 2008
Our husband, father, friend, "Our Marine" Calvin Kossiver passed away in the early morning of October 16, 2007 after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer on June 6, 2007. We miss him more than anyone can imagine, but we know his pain and suffering has ended.
There are currently no blood tests or easily available screening tests that can accurately detect early cancers of the pancreas. Pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer death in the United States. It is the 3rd leading cause of cancer death among 40-59 year old men. Only 1% of the National Cancer Institute’s $4.8 billion dollar cancer research budget is spent on researching Pancreatic Cancer.
Please support the Purple Stride walk on June 21st in memory of Cal. He would be so proud to know that we are doing everything to make sure that another family doesn’t have to go through what we did.
