Race season in well underway for team Avitabile. So far we have both finished the Miami and Long Branch Half Marathons, as well as Rev3 Olympic triathlon. Amy completed Boston marathon (wow was it hot!). But the most import race is coming up - the Marine Corps Marathon on October 28th.
We're participating in the Marine Corps Marathon, to raise money for the National Marfan Foundation. The Marfan Syndrome is a genetic condition that affects connective tissue. Because connective tissue is found throughout the body, the Marfan syndrome can affect many body systems, including the skeleton, eyes, heart and blood vessels, nervous system, skin and lungs. As many as 1 in 5000 people in the United States is estimated to have this condition, yet few people have heard of it.
We are completing this event in honor of Scott's brother Keith and all the courageous people living with Marfan. Your donations will be used to support NMF and their efforts to raise money for Marfan Syndrome research, awareness and education.
Please make a donation to support the NMF and our participation in this event to help advance their mission.
Thanks for your support!
Team Avitabile!!!
