Dear Family and Friends,

Last year, we raised over $8,000 for the Team Hope Walk for a Cure for Huntington's Disease! This year, I have been asked to be the Chairperson of the Huntington's Disease Society of America: New York Chapter, Team Hope Walk Committee (which means I need to raise even more money this year!).  Thank you to everyone who supported me last year and made generous donations to my fundraising efforts.  Over the past year, Huntington's Disease has continued to  gain media coverage, and I even went to Washington, DC with over 100 other HD advocates to lobby on Capitol Hill! We visited a total of 85 Representatives and Senators to educate them about HD, and to urge them to support the HD Parity Act (HR678 in the House).  Although there is still no cure for HD, research and clinical trials continue to make progress, with the help of your donations.  Please consider honoring my father, Carlos Hanssen, who passed away on March 17, 2008 by making a donation to the Team Hope Walk for a Cure for Huntington's Disease.  Thank you everyone for your love and support, and for helping other families like mine.
