Oh my what a year it has been for mom, her fight with Carcinoid Cancer and all it's doings...

Just over 2 1/2 years ago my mother was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer.  I received a phone call from mom in her hospital bed, asking if I had heard of carcinoid cancer.  At that time I had not, so to the internet I went--the Caring For Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF) was the best source of information.  CFCF has also been the most active group in the fight against Carcinoid Cancer.  This year I will be running the Marine Corp Marathon, raising money for Caring for Carcinoid Foundation as part of the Sunflower Squad. 

As for mom--this year, after nearly 5 months of being a long way from home (having 8 surgeries and recovering), she was able to return in Minot and is now plugging along day after day.  Cancer touches the lives of everyone.  But the life of a cancer survivor is more than touched, it is shook-up and turned upside down.  Now we celebrate the good days and endure those which are 'less than good'.
