Security on Campus, Inc. - 25 Years later, true success!

Dear Phi Sigs, LU Alumni, Family and Friends,

April 5, 1986 brutal violence ended our friend and fellow classmate Jeannie Clery's life. This single tragedy changed many lives forever (mine included). It was a very dark time for us and obviously her family and friends were devastated.

But from the tragedy, anger and search for answers something truly inspiring has happened.  The one tragedy shaped the way colleges and universities view, operate and invest in security!

Through the tireless efforts of the Clery Family and their friends over the last 25 years, Security on Campus (SOC) has transformed and continues to influence the campus security industry and their practices.

In 1990 the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act was signed into law, now known as the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, requiring all colleges receiving federal funds to report crime statistics.

Security On Campus, Inc. (SOC) has made a dramatic and far reaching impact on college campus crime reporting, campus crime victim rights and prevention initiatives to reduce campus crime.

Today, it remains the first and only nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of criminal violence at colleges and universities nationwide through educational, awareness, and policy initiatives.

As my daughters and many of your children and grandchildren will become or are currently college students, I am asking you to mark this anniversary with a donation. (and a hefty one at that from my college buddies)

I appreciate your support of SOC and its mission to partner with Colleges and Universities to keep our children safe.

Respectfully,

Andy
