Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.
Recently I started running for my health and I realized that I wanted to make it mean something more. I am very excited to announce that I will be running in support of the Lupus Foundation of America since Lupus has affected some great people in my life. I hope that you are able to help me reach my goal to support the LFA in funding research for a cure, raising awareness and helping those who have this disease.
You can make a flat donation or if you would like to make a pledge per mile I run in a specific time, or even sponsor any organized runs I may do. As I register for events I will make sure to post them here to let everyone know. My goal is to raise $1000 by the end of the year, and then I will start over next year either with LFA again or possibly another charity. And don't worry, I just started and I run really slow. ;)
Lupus is an autoimmune disease similar to MS, Fibromyalgia, Crohns and others. In basic terms the body can not tell self from non-self so it will attack it's own body as if it were fighting off a cold or virus. The difference with lupus is that it likes to attack the ENTIRE body not just a specific area or organ. What does THIS mean?
The body reacts with flu-like symptoms: severe fatigue, fever, headaches as well as organ inflammation. The biggest thing that effects people with lupus pretty consistently and on a chronic basis is arthritis.

Many thanks for your support-- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
If you are interested in getting fit I started running using the Couch to 5k plan. You can do it too! http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
