The Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. (Nashville-area chapter) was started on July 12, 1984. Its primary focuses are as follows: to improve the quality of life for those afflicted with lupus, to provide information and to conduct public awareness programs regarding the disease, to promote research to find a cure and cause for the disease, and to discover better treatment modes.
