New York Romp for Research
Fellow Steppers
New York in the fall just wouldn't be the same without The Romp for Research. So it is that on Oct 2, at 2:30 (Asphalt Green on the upper east side of Manhattan), we gather again.
The spirit is one of celebration and fun. The purpose being to raise funds for the Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation (DSRTF). In the five years we have been supporting this non-profit, the research has made great progress. The objective of the research efforts being to find treatments that help improve congnition levels in people born with Down Syndrome. Five drug treatments have been identified following discovery efforts at institutions like Johns Hopkins University and Stanford University. There is a coordinated program of effort with an intent to taking the most promising of these treatments to drug trials. Exciting progress.
Sophia continues to delight and charm. Though in recent months her cheeky grin is short a few teeth! It's hard to believe she's now 7 and as with most typical 7 year olds has plenty to do. She's had a great summer of camp, tutoring, swimming lessons, trips to the park and the zoo, and most importantly a lot of fun with her brother Ben. We're not so sure she's looking forward to starting 2nd grade next week after such a great summer!
We'd be delighted if you can join us at the Romp and highly appreciative of any donation you are able to make to this deserving cause.
Thank you for your contributions and continued support.
Andrew, Debbie, Sophia and Ben
