Sophia's Steppers 2009
Fellow Steppers,
The summer is drawing to an end, the leaves are soon to turn color, and team Sophia's Steppers gathers once more for the annual fund raising drive for our favorite cause, the Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation. Oh yes, it's that time of year again!
On October 4th at 2:30, we will convene at Asphalt Green on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and we will ROMP FOR RESEARCH! This is a fun filled family event where we aim to raise funds and awareness for the important research being funded by the Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation.
The DSRTF's efforts will make a significant impact on the lives of people like Sophia; born with Down Syndrome but armed with so much love and talent. With a little extra help, the world will come to know her extraordinary abilities.
So what's going on with Sophia? She has just just turned 5 and will be starting kindergarten in a few weeks. She's making terrific progress and is able to charm those she meets in some way, shape or form.
Sophia's younger brother, Ben, and she are best friends. During her time off from summer school they have enjoyed trips to the park, play dates and even the odd trip to the zoo. They get along brilliantly, and are happy to take turns letting one another know who rules the roost. As parents it's been highly amusing and rewarding watching the two of them play and go at it!
Over the past 4 years Sophia's Steppers have raised in excess of $50,000 for Down Syndrome causes. We continue this fund raising drive in 2009. We'd be delighted if you're able to join us at the ROMP and highly appreciative of any donation you're able to make to this deserving cause.
Thank you for your contributions and continued support.
All the best
Andrew, Debbie, Sophia and Ben
