On May 9th, 2012, for the tenth year in a row, I will have the honor of joining over 1200 men and women from the Police Unity Tour as they begin the 300 mile journey to Washington, DC arriving en masse at the National Law Enforcement Memorial. To date, the Unity Tour has raised nearly 10 million dollars. This money has been donated to the National Law Enforcement Memorial through generous donations from our many sponsors. They help to build the memorial without taxpayer dollars. Additionally, and more importantly, the NLEOM provides financial benefits to surviving families of Federal, State and Local officers killed in the line of duty.

Unfortunately, every year, over 150 law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty. I have had the honor to meet some of the family members who travel to Washington to see their loved one’s name placed on the wall at the Memorial. Your donations and support are what makes this happen.
