Happy New Year! The Virginia Beach oceanfront had its first snow fall of 2006. It must be getting near POLAR PLUNGE time. The ocean water was 44 degrees this morning; I know it will drop lower as the winter winds bring colder and colder temperatures. TEAM MOONEY members have been busy collecting funds for this Special Olympics event. So far this year we have been very successful. Many of you have been very generous. Your money helps support numerous programs for our special athletes. The Special Olympics program needs you and your financial support to complete its mission. TEAM MOONEY has been part of this fine organization for almost thirty years. I wish all of you would make the time to attend at least one Special Olympics event in your area and find out just why your money is needed. February 4th is just a few weeks away. Are you ready to join TEAM MOONEY as we Plunge into the Atlantic Ocean? We are honored to escort the special Olympic swim team as they take the PLUNGE, we are still accepting new team members. As a new member of TEAM MOONEY your success as a fund raiser moves you to the front of 2900 plungers at the oceanfront. Double check your schedule, if you have the time come jump into the ocean with us. If you are not ready to plunge you are more than welcome to enjoy the winter carnival with the 5,000 spectators. Virginia Beach puts on a great show the weekend of the POLAR PLUNGE. Hotels sell out quick so make your plans now. If you can't take the PLUNGE please send a contribution.
