We need your help!

The Special Olympics has been hit as hard as everyone by the length of this great recession. Yet they need to provide for our special needs athletes all year in 2012. The Polar Plunge is our biggest fund rising event for the year. Our goal is to past the record of last year of a $1,000,000.00. We need your money and your time. Can you help? Are you able to skip a movie? Perhaps eat one less meal out? Will you collect your spare change? Please consider sending any amount of money to support the Special Olympics. Our goal can be accomplished if each person our team contact sends in something. Most of you send $ 3.00 a day on morning coffee, can you spare that much this month for the Special Olympics? I wish all of you would make the time to attend at least one Special Olympics event in your area and find out just why your money is needed. Use the web site listed below to find a Special Olympic office near you.

 

Let us talk like adults; the fact is that the Special Olympics cannot run these programs without MONEY! Your money and my money are needed to give the program a chance to grow and succeed. This event is a fund raiser and any amount will contribute to the success of the program.

Can you join our TEAM?

2012 could be the best year ever to join TEAM MOONEY and take the PLUNGE for Special Olympics into the Atlantic Ocean, February 4th is drawing near. Are you ready to join TEAM MOONEY? We have the honor of escorting the Special Olympic swim team as they take the PLUNGE, you will be the first people in the water. As a new member of TEAM MOONEY, your success as a fundraiser moves you to the front of 3900 plungers at the oceanfront. Double-check your schedule, if you have the time come jump into the ocean with us. Not ready to PLUNGE? You are more than welcome to enjoy the winter carnival with the other 10,000 spectators. The City of Virginia Beach puts on a great show the weekend of the POLAR PLUNGE. You can start the PLUNGE weekend by dancing under the big tent to live music on Friday night. We host a 5K run this year on Saturday morning and a winter festival on the beach for children of all ages before the PLUNGE. New this year is a tent party on the beach Saturday night to finish a wonderful day. Hotels sell out quick so make your plans now. So, stop worrying and join us for the PLUNGE.

 

As you can see by the attached picture, we now have four generations of the Mooney family supporting the Special Olympics!
