The Angel Fish team was created in 2009 for the Inaugural Great Steps for NF Walk in Kansas City. The team was created in memory of Jeff D. Balch; our son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who lost his battle with neurofibromatosis (NF) in 2008. Our name Angel Fish was suggested by Trevor, Jeff's Godson, who said Jeff is now an angel and he loved to fish, which made the name appropriate.
NF is not a well known disease, but affects more than 100,000 Americans. NF is more prevalent than Cystic Fibrosis, hereditary Muscular Dystrophy, Huntington’s Disease, and Tay Sachs combined! It affects people all over the world and affects both sexes equally and has no particular racial, geographic or ethnic distribution.
Today there is no cure for NF, but with your donation we hope to find one. Donations to the Angel Fish team for the 2012 Great Steps for NF Walk will go to Neurofibromatosis, Inc. For more than 20 years their mission has been to create a community of support through education, advocacy, coalitions, raising public awareness, and supporting research for treatments and a cure. For more information about the organization and NF, please visit www.nfinc.org.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. Many employers match donations, to charitable organizations, made by their employees. Please contact your company’s HR department and inquire about their matching gifts program.
