This is a fundraising event with all proceeds going to the Cure Juvenile Myositis Foundation (www.curejm.com). This organization helps fund reserach to find a cure for Juvenile Myositis.

Eleni was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis on April 8, 2010. It is an autoimmune disease which affects her muscles and skin. This disease has a wide range of symptoms, but most common symptoms are muscle weakness and a unique facial rash. There is no cure for this disease at this particular time.

Dr. Lauren Pachman, MD, from Children's Memorial Hopsital receives research grants from the Cure Juvenile Myositis foundation, and is Eleni's pediatric rheumatologist. Patients from all over the world come to see Dr. Pachman to seek out her expertise.

Approximately 2 in a million children in the United States are diagnosed annually. Because this is a rare disease, there is little awareness about Juvenile Dermatomyosits.

Through this event we hope to raise awareness and make a sizeable donation for future research. We need your support and generosity to help fund research, and eventually a cure for this disease. We look forward to seeing you at the event.
