Dear Friends:
Please sponsor me! I just signed-up for the hardest assignment I may ever have – I’m going to teach! No, it’s not career day, so I can’t fall back on telling the kids what I do. Instead, I’m actually learning how to design and deliver a lesson. I even have to figure out how to evaluate if the students learned anything FROM ME.
It’s all part of The Education Fund’s 2011 Teach-A-Thon, a walk-a-thon with a twist. I get to walk in the shoes of a teacher! Already, I’ve discovered it’s harder than I ever imagined.
With your sponsorship, teachers will:
Get the supplies they need for their students; purchase teaching aids, inspirational items for students, educational games; and even receive support for field trips, art projects, and innovative hands-on activities.
Join me as we celebrate the many teachers who changed our lives and pushed us into exciting new paths!
Learn more about the campaign by visiting The Education Fund’s Web site at www.educationfund.org.
And, please sponsor me! Make a tax-deductible contribution to The Education Fund through the Teach-A-Thon. You’ll not only support our teachers, but also invest in our children’s future.
Thank you, in advance, for supporting my volunteer efforts. I promise to let you know if I survive my day in the classroom.
Sincerely,
Anita
P.S. Did you know The Education Fund is a nationally recognized non-profit that has provided more than $38 million in cash and services to Miami-Dade County public schools, teachers and students, including distributing $6 million in free classroom supplies, awarding over $2 million in classroom grants, providing more than 10,000 needy students with computers, ensuring 228,000 hours of one-on-one tutoring for struggling students and much, much more?
P.P.S. No amount is too little – it’s the support that counts!
