Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts
In case you haven't heard of Dog Scouts of America, It is a not for profit organization that promotes responsible dog ownership that includes programs to help dog owners enjoy a great relationship with a well-mannered dog while benefiting from each other's company. DSA members strive to solve any problems that come their way with positive and effective training, thus helping to reduce the number of unwanted dogs in shelters by keeping them in happy lifelong homes.
DSA's local troops get together to learn new things, serve the community, and spend quality time with their dogs. Some typical troop service projects include training dogs to ring bells for the Salvation Army's holiday kettle campaign and raising funds to support local fire department with pet oxygen masks. Troops also spread responsible dog ownership in their communities and are an excellent local educational resource.
Dog Scouts works at the national AND the grassroots level. We inspire our members to pledge a committment to serving their communities.
Hike-a-thon funds will be used for:
o Paying the website and printing fees so DSA can continue to make the extensive educational information and outreach programs free for public use
o Creating new merit badges
o Defending our organization against copyright infringement
o Marketing - including our upcoming print and social media campaign in a major dog culture magazine
o Saving for the future (e.g., better website, expansion of offerings)
o (coming soon) Funding a small grant program to help assist troops and individuals in promoting DSA and its mission (helping to pay booth fees, providing banners, providing brochures, etc.)
o (future plans) Creating an ambassador program to give back to the troops and support them in order for them to better represent the organization
Dog Scouts of America is a very important part of Sophie's and my life. Your support will help ensure the organization continues to grow and is around for many more years to come.
Sophie and I have a goal of walking 50 miles in the month of May.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you,
Anita & Sophie
