Stepping Out To Cure Scleroderma 2011 - Rochester
June 4th I will be "Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma" for the 7th year! Sadly though - this year I will be walking in memory of my husband, Raymond, who passed away in January from Lung Cancer. June 4th would have been our 45th anniversary. Fortunately we packed a lot in our 44 years and I have many wonderful memories.
Many of you know that I have been living with Scleroderma, an autoimmune disease, for over 27 years. Scleroderma affects 1 in 4,000 people and can harden the skin, affect internal organs, causes profound fatigue and pain. Although medication does help with various symptoms, there is no cure.
"The Hare Raisers" team has been extremely agressive in raising funds to support research designed to identify the cause and cure of scheroderma and enhance the public's awareness of this disease. Since 2007, with everyone's generous donations we have raised over $21,800! Raymond joined the "Hare Raisers" last year and we collected and impressive $7800. This year our team goal is $9,500 and my personal goal is $3000.
I hope that we can count on your support - you can donate through my personal web page: http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/anna-hull/Stepping-Out-To-Cure-Scleroderma-2011-Rochester. As most of you know donating though this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
