Annalise de Zoete's Fundraising Page
Welcome to my NYC Marathon for National Stroke Association FirstGiving site! I'm excited about this new adventure and thrilled to share it with you!
I am putting one foot in front of the other, at a pace hopefully faster than walking, for 26.2 miles in an effort to raise awareness of and funds for stroke. During my year of working at National Stroke Association, I have talked with countless caregivers and met many stroke survivors. I am convinced that if they have the courage and strength to live with stroke, I can have the courage and strength to run this distance.
Stroke is a leading cause of death and adult disability in the United States, taking the lives of more women every year than breast cancer. Surprisingly, though, stroke doesn't get a lot of publicity. That is why I am embarking on this somewhat crazy journey: 100 days of marathon training. It is my goal to not only raise funds but also raise awareness of the incidence and impact of stroke. I would be honoured if you came along on this journey with me.
Donations of any size are so greatly appreciated and will make a difference in the lives of millions of stroke survivors.
