Once a year in the spring, I wake up having dreamt I'm running the Boston Marathon, I'm at mile 24 and I'm feeling good. I wake up, throw on my running shoes, go on a long run and realize that I am far from feeling good after even 10 miles of running. This spring, I'm turning my 26-mile dream into reality and hope that you can help.

I've chosen to run the Boston Marathon with the Horizons for Homeless Children team. Horizons for Homeless Children provides a safe, stable and nurturing environment that enables homeless children to develop emotionally and intellectually. With two little boys of our own, Sam and I have been in awe of the astounding intellectual and emotional growth we've witnessed over the past four years. To see two curious, independent and active boys develop into individuals has been our greatest joy and challenge. The past four years would have been so much more challenging without the support of our family and friends and without such a strong and stable community. Horizons for Homeless Children provides support and stability to families who have no other place to go and gives their children a fighting chance.
