Anne V's Fundraising Page
Dear friends!
I will be running part of the NYC marathon on November 1 on behalf on "Achilles International" which is a worldwide organization that encourages people with disabilities like paralysis, visual impairment, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, amputations, and traumatic brain injuries to participate in running with the general public.
I'll be guiding Alexander Dmitriev from Russia for the first 4 and last 6 miles of the marathon. He got in a car accident at the age of 26 and will be participating in a wheelchair.
We are clearly in difficult economic times, but I promise, this donation is worth it, and every dollar, no matter the contribution ... counts.
I'm so proud to be a part of Achilles team who is doing great work, with programs for children with disabilities (Achilles Kids), injured service men and women (Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans), NYC Chapter and international programs. Running has always been a large part of my life and I feel privileged to help bring happiness and true joy that running gives me to those who have been less fortunate!
Thank you so much for all your support.
Lots of love,
Anne
