Eight years ago we held our first Huntington's Disease Support Group meeting in Boise.  When I opened the doors that first night, I had no idea what to expect.  I don't think I would have believed then that our group would still be strong this many years later.  The members of the group quickly became friends with each other, providing support and practical help to others who were living with HD. I know that the members'  knowledge, sense of humor, are perseverence have inspired me in my own life.  We have laughed a lot and cried some.  We have educated hundred's of people about HD and we have enjoyed many wonderful potlucks together.  But we also know that many of the people affected by HD are still not getting the support and services they need.

It is clear that we have so much more work to do to help the people in the Treasure Valley who are living with HD.  Through our Team Hope Walk we are hoping to raise money to help us improve services, provide education, and ultimately find a cure for HD.  I have never been very good at fundraising--I usually don't do it.  But I love too many people whose lives are affected with HD to sit around and do nothing, so when this opportunity arose I felt like we had no excuse to not give it a try.  

This is our very first fundraising event--please help us make it a huge success.
