Horray! We finished the race! What a great feeling to cross that finish line.
Can't thank you all enough for you thoughts prayers, words of encouragement, and support!! Our team raised over $40,000 for children in Africa to have clean drinking water. This translates into providing 8 wells!
As for the race, it took my running partner Susan and I about 5 hours 19 minutes and 28 seconds to be exact. The entire time, my family was running around Chicago trying to see us at as many points during the race as they could. It was great to have them there!
If you haven't had a chance to make your contribution yet, there's still time! Please help me help others by doing my part to reach my fundraising goal!
God is good!
Blessings!
The days are numbered.
3 and counting...Thank you for all your generous support!!
If you haven't made your gift yet, there's still time.
Please do so by the 9th. Remember, it's not for me, it's for the kids who deserve clean water and a chance at a good education!!
Please track my progress on race day . visit Chicago Marathon website -Verizon.
You are a Blessing!
26 days until 26 miles...this has been quite the journey. Tomorrow, Thursday, September 17 we will hit the 20 mile mark! Then it's down hill from there. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to run. Thank you for your support!
Greetings! As you know, I have a love for traveling...health...and helping others! So it just seemed fitting that I fufill my long-time goal of running a marathon, while raising money to help others...in particularly children in Africa!
So, I have teamed up with my church (Orchard Hill Church) to train on the "Iowan's for Africa" marathon team to raise money through World Vision.
World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.
You can support my efforts through Team World Vision by making a one-time tax-deductible donation.
Just do it...because it's the right thing to do.
Blessings! Annie
