Anthony Wintheiser's Fundraising Page
According to UNICEF, 25,000 children die each day due to poverty. Many of those that survive are underweight and in poor health, living without adequate shelter or access to safe water and health services.
One child at risk is Velentina, who lives in Mzuzu, Malawi. She is 4 years old, the youngest of three girls, and lives in a burned out brick chantey with a grass roof in a community severely affected by the AIDS/HIV crisis. Her favorite class at school is English and when she grows up she wants to be a nurse. I sponsor her so that she has a chance to grow up and fulfill that dream.
To help children like Velentina and fight global poverty I run for Team World Vision, a group that works with communities to provide them with clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities. This will be my second year running the Chicago Marathon with this fantastic team.
As I train for the marathon this year my goal is to run 1,000 miles and to raise $2,000 so girls like Velentina can have access to safe drinking water. I'd be honored if you would join me in helping the worlds poor.
There are two ways you can support my efforts through Team World Vision. You can make a one time donation to help me reach and exceed my fundraising target or you can do like me and sponsor a child like Velentina for only $35 per month.
Do it for the kids!
