AZ CAF Friends and Families: Running for a Cure
Hello, and thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
I am a student at Arizona State University. My college buddies and I are going to run in 2010 Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Arizona http://www.rnraz.com/home.html so we can help raise money for the Cooley's Anemia Foundation (CAF), a non-profit organization that battles the fatal blood disease thalassemia (a.k.a. Cooley's anemia).
CAF is the nation's leading advocate for people with thalassemia, who must endure lifelong blood transfusions as often as every two weeks and who battle a wide range of complications, including heart and liver failure, diabetes and hepatitis. The Foundation provides valuable patient service programs, funds important medical research and educates the public, the medical community and elected officials about thalassemia. (For more information, visit www.cooleysanemia.org or call 800-522-7222.)
CAF has also recently launched an innovative new CURE campaign, which will advance gene therapy for thalassemia and for thousands of other single-gene disorders.
Your willingness to help can enable CAF to make a huge difference in the fight against thalassemia. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
Many thanks for your support - and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
