Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! This is where you can donate to the BARCC Walk for Change, an annual event working towards ending sexual violence.

I am walking for my friends who have themselves been hurt by sexual violence or whose family members have survived ordeals that show just how much work is left to do. Just look at the statistics: http://www.feminist.com/antiviolence/facts.html.

I want my daughters and sons to grow up in a world where they don't have to fear what has happened to the too many victims comprising these statistics. Everyone has a right to their own body. Sexuality and sensuality are two aspects that we are supposed to be able to control. The weather, the price of gas, the traffic on Monday mornings--we can't control these things, but our bodies belong to us and us alone. Those who violate that sacred ground are committing acts entirely devoid of humanity. The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center supports survivors and offers resources for education that I hope will someday stop this violence before it happens.
