A SNAPSHOT OF OUR WORK: The Ecology Center led 7 successful land preservation ballot campaigns in Washtenaw County. Now over 10,000 acres are permanently preserved!  Our Built By Michigan coalition helped protect electric vehicle tax credits in the legislature. 117 MI hospitals have signed on to the Healthy Food Hospitals Campaign we developed within the MI Hospital Assoc. The EC led the fight to shut down all of MI's medical incinerators, and the effort to create the Michigan Green Chemistry Roundtable.  Our work was key in getting the 5 largest national purchasing entities w/ $135 billion in annual healthcare purchasing power to require vendors to i.d. problematic chemicals in products.  And, our www.HealthyStuff.org project is pushing many companies to reduce toxic chemicals in their products, including Britax and Orbit Baby (2 largest car seat makers) who have commited to phasing out toxic flame retardants.  We created AnnArbor350 to lead local climate action, and we've helped nearly 70 MI schools adopt energy efficiency and clean energy plans, including installation of renewable energy systems at 26 of these. How's that for impact!
