Hello, my friends!
I'm back...
Once again, and for the third year in a row, I am participating in the Kid's Cancer Buzz Off, wherein I'll commit to shaving my head in exchange for your financial support. Notice the picture of me to the right after just having had my head shaved by New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo at last year's event. Two things strike me about this photo:
1.) It's amazing how similar I look with and without hair. I guess this means that even when I grow it out there's not much there anymore...depressing.
2.) Despite having me by an inch or two in height, I look just as rugged and studly as Jerod. (maybe this is my perception only?!)
Anyway, I will spare you a long message, but would like very much to thank you all for your past support and to ask once again for your help this year. This is a special event and I am very proud to be a part of it. It feels good to show support for these kids by helping to fund programs that help them fight their battles against cancer and, of course, it's always a way for me to express my gratitude for the health of my son Nicholas (now approaching 6 years in remission!) and to remember the many kids that we knew who lost their battles with cancer.
I can tell you that there is nothing harder than watching a child lose their fight against cancer. This is the kind of thing that you can never forget.
Many of you have been so generous to me in the past and, while I'd never want you to feel compelled to support me at the same level every year, anything that you can do would surely be appreciated. I'll be sure to post a before-and-after photo so that you'll know that you got your money's worth.
I wish the best to you and your families and I thank you in advance for your generosity,
Ari
