Curren Salvati's Fundraising Page
Dear Friends and Family,
Ariane and I are putting together a mountain climb, on June 19th 2010, to raise money and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy(DMD). During the weekend of June 19-20, participants across the country will be climbing big mountains, small hills, hiking trails, and even skyscrapers to raise funds.
As you may know, our son Curren was diagnosed with DMD when he was 18 months old. There is no cure for DMD, which slowly weakens the muscles of DMD boys, and is 100% fatal. Boys like Curren, are usually wheelchair bound by the age of 12 and their life expectancy is approximately 19 years old.
There are exciting breakthoughs happening in the field of DMD research and more promising therapies waiting for research dollars. In order to move forward, we need your support and contributions to help fund this research. You can make a difference in the lives of these children.
Our team, Curren's Climbers, will be taking on Mount San Jacinto in Palm Springs. It's a beautiful hike that will take approximately 6 hours to complete. We'll ride the tram up to 8500 feet and then hike 2000 feet up to the peak. The peak is 10,500 feet and on a clear day, you can see the Pacific ocean. We have friends and family participating in our climb and invite anyone to join us on our journey. If you're interested in participating in the hike, you can sign up here. Please help us reach our goal of $5000, by donating today. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Vince and Ariane
