It's that time of year again; time for me to go jump in a lake.
Last year, Carlyle Lake was cold, but not cold enough. This year, I am headed back to Lake Springfield (mainly due to the fact that I am in training during Carlyle Lake's Plunge weekend).
Any help that you can give me in raising funds for Special Olympics will be greatly appreciated, not only by me, but the olympians as well. To reward your generosity, I'm going to join over 3,600 people statewide who will voluntarily jump into freezing cold water in the middle of winter as we take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges for Special Olympics Illinois.
Highland's Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #194 raised over $11,000.00 for Special Olympics in 2009. Money donated to me (cash is good) or through this website will be used to sponsor our local Special Olympians.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thanks for your time and consideration,
Aric
PS Dawn is taking the Plunge as well this year. For those that know her, please locate her email or find her page and split any donation between the two of us (I do not want her to feel left out in the cold.....Ha Ha).
