I adopted Bogie from ABC almost 3 years ago where he was turned in by owners who didn't like his elbows. They didn't care that he was well trained, took treats oh-so-gently, and had a great personality to boot, and didn't take care of him as a result. There are hundreds of other Bassets in similar situations all over the US (and thousands of dogs in general..) who need the help of a rescue and a permanent home. ABC does this by taking dogs from the NY Area and by working with other rescues in Georgia, Alabama, and Illinois to find these dogs good, permanent homes.
