Update: Wednesday December 31st - Lindie and 3 of her puppies have found their forever homes while Macie, Tank & Scoop still await theirs. Thank you so much for all your support this year.

Update: Wednesday October 15th 7:00pm - Lindie is a great mom and the puppies are getting bigger and stronger everyday. She had 5 boys and 1 girl. Baby girl, Macy, had to be rushed to Emergency shortly after birth because she was not breathing, but she is doing much better now.

Thank you very much for your support. Please give what you can. Every little bit helps to pay for food and medical care.

Update: Tuesday October 7th 3:00pm - Lindie had her puppies on Monday October 6th.

Update: Monday Sept 22 6:30pm - Lindie went to the vet today for an exam. It was discovered that there are 5 puppies. She is getting bigger everyday and doing really now that she is getting nutritional food and lots of love. We expect that she will give birth in the second week of October. We will keep Lindie and her babies together approximately 12 weeks. There will be medical expenses for each puppy as well as for Lindie. Please give what you can.

Update: Saturday Sept 20 9:00am - We had a scare this week with Gala, she was listless and had an irregular heartbeat. She is doing better but will be examined by a cardiologist. She is our oldest beagle rescued from the puppy mill and has endured unbelievable treatment. She has had anywhere from 12-18 litters in her lifetime. When she arrived in Phoenix, she had just given birth a day or two earlier. We did not receive any of her puppies, so we can only amagine what happened to them. She was very sad when she arrived but is doing much better with the help of her loving foster family. Please help us save more dogs like Gala from a lifetime of constant breeding for profit. Please spread the word about puppy mills and pet stores. Thank you for your support.

Update: Saturday Sept 13 10:00am - All the beagles are in foster homes awaiting their forever homes. Expectant mom Lindie is getting bigger everday and should give birth in a few weeks. Everyone is responding well to medical care. Please keep spreading the word about our beautiful beagles and the horrors about puppy mills. Thank you so much for your support.

Update: Sunday Sept 7th 7:00pm - Three of the beagles have been diagnosed with Sarcoptic Mange, including Binkie, Binkie's momma Hera and Butter. They are responding well to treament but will need additional medical care and quanrantine for four weeks. Jellie has been diagnosed with cancer but is also responding well to treatment. Everyone else will be spayed or neutered by tomorrow except for our expectant mother Lindie. Most of the beagles will be in foster by this week. It will be another three weeks before any of them will be adopted pending medical release. Thank You for your support.

Update: Sunday Aug 31st 9:00am - They're here, all 28 of them. Baby Boy, whom we named Binkie, is doing much better as is his momma and 2 other abandoned babies that she adopted. We still need your support, many of them have mange (non-contagious type) and other illnesses that will require medical attention. Many of the mommies have sore feet from living their whole lives in a wire cage. They are so happy now and are actually learning to play with toys. We appreciate all you have done for them.

Update: Thursday Aug 28th 12:00 noon - The Beagles are on the way and should arrive in Phoenix around Midnight along with 6 Chihuahuas that hitched a ride. Soon we will be able to love and spoil them and give them the lives that they deserve.

Update: Wednesday Aug27th 12:00noon - We will be picking 24 beagles in the next few days. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting us.

Update: Monday Aug 25th 5:00pm - We received good news about some of the sicker beagles. The mother and puppy are starting to walk around and drink water. The motherless baby boy puppy is also doing better. We still do not have an exact count on how many will be coming our way, but at least they are being given a chance at a happier and healthier life. Thank you for all your Support.

Update:Saturday 4:00pm , there are more beagles, including puppies, than expected. Please donate as much as possible to save their lives. We are doing well with the material donations, but we need donations for medical expenses.

Arizona Beagle Rescue will be taking in 12 pregnant beagles from a horrific puppy mill in Missouri.

Arizona Beagle Rescue was contacted by Mill Dog Rescue Network about a puppy mill in Missouri that is on final warning.  The puppy mill being on final warning needs to get rid of the dogs... so if we did not take them, they would be shot or drowned in order for them to be "gone".  This current puppy mill has 500 dogs!!!

They will be transported to Colorado from Missouri, where they will be in a safe place and fed normal food.  We are working to arrange transport for the beagles.  It is an honor to save these sweet souls.

These poor mommy beagles have been suffering and need AZBR to help them through this.  We do not know their ages as of yet, and they may be as young as 4-6 months old and having a litter of puppies already or as old as 8 having their 30th litter.  In puppymill dogs, there is such a thing called "free-whelpers".  What this term means is that the female can give birth to her pups and take care of them without the assistance of humans.  There are not many free-whelpers in puppymills.  Reason why?  Because they themselves have been taken away from their mother way to early in order to learn how to nurture.... they are too young to know what to do... and will eat their babies.  This is so sad... this is life in a puppymill.  They are starving and do not know what else to do.  We are hoping that we have a little bit of older experienced mommies in the 12 but we will not know for sure.  With all the bad conditions and continuous breeding, we probably will end up having some still birth puppies. We are going to do our best to avoid any c-sections and just be there for all the births.   Gestation for a dog is usually between 58 and 63 days.   When a puppymill gives someone like Theresa, dogs from their mill, they give no information, no paperwork; they do not usually let them in... they will make a hole in the fence and just hand the dogs through one by one as fast as they can... they go from the mill, through the fence, into the rescuers arms and they are put in kennels and in the truck... from there they are on a mission to get to where they need to go as soon as possible to assess the medical conditions these dogs are in.  Puppymills are horrible. They supplement with saw dust for food.  It fills their bellies and it is cheap.

We need your help to pay for medical care, vaccinations and spay and neuter for the mommy beagles and puppies. Our goal is to save as many as possible and give them a great new life.

Thank you for your support--and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
