UPDATE: Friday June 12th, Erin (foster mom) just got back from Dr. Sidaway's office. He was very impressed with Oliver's improvement. He took x-rays again and said he could still see the same bone spurs that will likely cause him some discomfort over time, and may need to be operated on eventually, but that for now he wants to hold off on any surgery. Dr. Sidaway said the swelling in the joint has gone down markedly and that when Ollie walks he looks much better. Oliver still had some pain when he examined him, but nothing like before. Another really positive point was that Oliver had re-gained most all of the muscle he had lost in the bad leg. He wants to try to wean him off the Rimadyl to see how he does, but did tell us that depending on how that worked, Oliver may have to be on the Rimadyl long term. He also wants him to continue with the valley fever medicine and warned us that he may be on that long term, maybe even life long, but that time would tell.

UPDATE: Monday May 25th, Oliver is being treated for Valley Fever. It was discovered after his last examination. He will need to complete this treatment before any surgery can be performed. He is doing well with his physical therapy and enjoys going for walks in his wagon. Thank you very much for your love and support of Oliver.
UPDATE: Thursday April 16th, Oliver is having physical therapy and will be re-evaluated for his surgery very soon. Thank you so much for your love and generosity.

UPDATE: Tuesday April 7th, When Oliver went in for his surgery, the vet felt they should try physical therapy first. Currently, he is receiving therapy and medication. We will keep you update on his condition. Thank you for your support.

Oliver Wendell - 8 years old is having problems with his one of his legs. He cannot place any weight on it. He was put on Rimadyl which helped while he was on it , but three days later he could not put weight on it again. Another visit to the vet discovered a torn cruciate ligament and he will need surgery. Beagle live a very long time and we want to give him the very best life he can have. We would truly appreciate any donation towards Oliver's surgery. He is such a sweet boy. Thank you for caring.
