Layla had a tumor removed that tested positive for cancer. She's in immediate need of financial help for her oncologist expenses and chemotherapy treatments.

12/12/05 Layla had a small tumor removed that tested positive for cancer.

1/15/06 Layla is still undergoing extensive medical treatment.

1/25/06 Layla came through her second surgery like a trooper! She was up and going in no time at all.
 
1/30/06 There was a small remnant of cancer left in the mass cell tumor tissue that was removed for the 2nd time, however they found "good margins" this time. 10 weekly chemotherapy sessions followed by several bi-weekly ones are needed to ensure that her cancer does not return.

2/16/06 Current expenses to date - $3,500.00. Raised through donations, $999.00!!

2/17/06 Layla had her first chemotherapy session today and she's doing fine.

3/3/06 She had her second treatment, oral one this time and is doing great!!! Showing no side effects at this time, still dancing for her breakfast!! And making social appearances!!

3/17/06 Her third treatment is another IV treatment, but she's coming through like a trooper!!! She is a little more tired, but, once again, nothing stops her!! She's just a sweetie!!!

3/29/06 Layla has five more treatments, she will most likely have her last treatment on May 26. She's doing great and was a hit at Beaglefest!

4/28/06 According to her doctor, Layla is looking good!! Her weight is up and there is no evidence of disease at the tumor site. However, her liver enzymes were elevated and so she did not receive her chemotherapy this week and won't until her enzymes return to normal. She will hopefully receive her treatment next week but in the mean time she's on SAMe and Milk Thistle.

5/5/06 Layla's liver enzymes that was previously elevated was down significantly today, but still above normal. We're going to hold off on the oral chemotherapy but continue the injectable drug Vinblastine. She needs to be seen in 2 weeks.
