How wonderful it is to adopt an older dog! The love, the companionship, all rolled into a bundle of fur with floppy ears!
Senior dogs, however, do come with some senior medical health issues. Blood tests, medication and veterinary care can be very costly. Jerry's mom has set up a fund in his memory (The best little man-dog ever!) to help defray costs of other dogs like Jerry.

Gail - Foster Mom - "Senior Dogs are the best!!! They are settled into life and know who they are. They realize their mission in life is to give unconditional love to their people. They don't usually have all the bad habits or behaviors that the younger dogs do. They are just happy being with you and enjoying the simple things in life like a nice walk together, a ride in the car, a trip to the dog park, sleeping in late, and the occasional cookie or two! My 10 yr. old foster Bart has been my best and easiest foster!!!"
Donna- Adoptive Mom - "Sugar is the sweetest dog ever. Because she is a little older, she is calm, and quiet, and behaves impeccably. I can look deep into her big brown eyes and know that she loves me as much as I love her. This soulful behavior does not stop her from giving lots of kisses, cuddling, and going for walks or any other activities. She kicks it into high gear running and playing especially around the younger dogs."
Nancy- Adoptive Mom - "Older dogs like my Toby are just great.. They are still a lot of fun. Toby loves to play with stuffed toys, he throws the toy up in the air and tries to catch it. Older dogs are more relaxed and love to sit on the couch and watch TV with you. Typically, I think, they get along with everyone even the household cats! Long story short, they are over their chewing stage, they are 'potty' trained, more relaxed and just want to be loved"
