ABC Basset Hound Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to help New York State’s abused, abandoned and unwanted bassets find their second chance forever home. ABC exists solely on monies from private donations and fundraising events held throughout the year. 2010 was a busy year for ABC with over 60 dogs being rescued. Many of ABC’s dogs arrive with some sort of medical problem which needs to be addressed before they are placed up for adoption. It can range from something as simple as a spay/neuter, to as serious as cancer. As a result, funds are always needed for vet bills and supplies necessary to keep saving New York State’s homeless hounds. On average we spend $35,000.00 on vet bills annually to help these Basset Hounds.
