Welcome to Team Ellie!!
Welcome to Team Ellie!
Ellie is asking all her family and friends to come support her on October 17th at the 1st Annual Spina Bifida Awareness walk. Our goal is to raise $2,000.00 and we are going to need your help to do it! Let's show Ellie how amazingly proud we are of her.
This is a wonderful fundraising event for SBAK which offers support to those who are affected by Spina Bifida. SBAK works hard to promote the prevention of Spina Bifida as well as enhance the lives of those affected by SB. Spina Bifida is a birth defect where the spinal cord does not enclose properly which allows for the nerves and spine to be damaged. This leads to loss of movement (paralysis), bowel and bladder malfunction and hydrocephalus (a build up of fluid in the brain).
As many of you know a little over 2 1/2 years ago Chad and I were wondering if Ellie would ever be able to walk. It was the support and prayers of our family and friends that helped to get us through this difficult time. We have been absolutely blessed! Ellie is walking and leading the life of a normal, very active two year old. Although there will be bumps in the road in the future we know that with the perseverance Ellie possesses she will overcome them all!
The Walk, Stroll and Roll fundraiser will be October 17th 2pm at Norton Commons. It is a 1 mile walk and yes Ellie will be walking and we would love to have as many family and friends join us that day in honor of "Team Ellie". It should be a great time. There will be trick or treating, raffles, live music and the Norton Commons Octoberfest! Have no worries UK/UL fans there are no games that will conflict!
Thank you for considering a donation of your time and/or dollars. This is a very specil cause that Ellie and her family hold dear to their hearts!
