Brazos Valley Chapter TCADP Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
The Brazos Valley Chapter of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (TCADP) is pleased to serve Aggieland and surrounding areas. Capital punishment has affected many people throughout Texas, and Brazos Valley is no exception. We are here to raise awareness on the many problems related to capital punishment. We are also here to provide support to those who have been impacted by violent crime and capital punishment: the loved ones of murder victims, the families of death row inmates, and the officials whose various job duties require involvement with carrying out state mandated executions.
Aggieland is a special place in Texas. With the faculty, students, and surrounding communities, this key location has much potential in playing a significant role in assisting our other chapters and our leading organization, TCADP, to get the death penalty here in Texas abolished.
Through your support, we can help raise much needed awareness throughout Aggieland and amplify our collective local voice on the issue. Texas leads the nation in the number of executions it has carried out since the Federal reinstatement in 1976. While other states have been abolishing the death penalty, such as, New Jersey and most recently New Mexico, Texas still leads the fastest execution rate in the nation. But that can change!
TCADP is working year round to educate the public and lawmakers on the problems of the death penalty. Only recently at a TCADP rally in Houston, former governer Mark White announced that he opposes the death penalty. TCADP is playing a key role in getting the word out that the death penalty is not the right way to confront violent crime on our state.
Your support for our local efforts and the statewide cause is critical. We hope that you will join us in this important cause and voice your support in bringing forth this much needed progressive change in the State of Texas.
